This space celebrates organizations devoted to helping animals in need—offering rescue, healing,
and loving homes, while protecting the wild ones with reverence and care.

Happy Endings Animal Rescue Sanctuary

Happy Endings Animal Rescue Sanctuary provides refuge, rehabilitation, and lifelong sanctuary to horses and other domestic animals who have experienced neglect, abuse, or instability. Each animal in their care receives individualized attention, proper nutrition, veterinary support, and the time and space needed to rebuild trust and regain a sense of safety.

Led by Executive Director and Founder C.C. Beaudette-Wellman, the sanctuary is deeply committed to restoring dignity, stability, and wellbeing to every animal who arrives there. Their work reflects patience, consistency, and a profound respect for each animal’s unique history and personality.

It is an honor to support Happy Endings through animal communication, offering insight into emotional wellbeing, herd dynamics, behavioral patterns, and physical concerns the animals may be communicating — always in collaboration with their dedicated care team and veterinary professionals. This deeper understanding can support recovery, strengthen trust, and enhance the bond between animals and the humans who care for them.

I am grateful to stand alongside organizations like Happy Endings that embody true compassion in action every single day.

SPCA Monterey County

Compassionate care for all animals.

SPCA Monterey County is the region’s only open-admission shelter, welcoming all animals—from cats and dogs to horses, barn pets, exotics, and wildlife. They provide loving shelter, expert veterinary care, behavior support, and adoption services without time limits, placing thousands of animals in new homes each year.

Their team treats every animal as an individual, creating personalized plans for healing and rehabilitation. They never euthanize for space or time, only to relieve suffering when necessary.

Beyond rescue, SPCA Monterey County is deeply committed to prevention. Their low-cost clinic has performed over 150,000 spay/neuter surgeries, and their humane education and training programs help keep pets safe, healthy, and at home where they belong.

AFRP – Animal Friends Rescue Project

Rescuing with heart, healing with purpose.

Since 1998, AFRP has been dedicated to finding loving, permanent homes for abandoned, stray, and abused companion animals. They work closely with local shelters to rescue the most vulnerable—especially those needing urgent medical care, extra time to adjust, or who are too young to thrive alone.

Rooted in compassion and community, AFRP leads with a spirit of inclusion and care. Their focused spay/neuter programs help end pet overpopulation, while their network of volunteers, staff, and board members ensures every animal receives the love and support they deserve.

Ric O’Barry’s Dolphin Project

Compassion in Action for Dolphins Worldwide

Founded in 1970 by former dolphin trainer turned activist Ric O’Barry, the Dolphin Project is the world’s longest-running anti-captivity dolphin welfare organization. After witnessing the tragic death of Kathy—the dolphin who played Flipper—Ric devoted his life to ending dolphin exploitation and advocating for their freedom.

The Dolphin Project works globally to:

  • Rescue and rehabilitate dolphins from captivity and exploitation

  • Establish sanctuaries, including the world’s first permanent dolphin rehabilitation center in Bali

  • Expose and end brutal dolphin hunts, especially in Taiji, Japan

  • Educate the public about the emotional and physical toll of captivity

Ric’s journey from trainer to defender has inspired millions through documentaries like The Cove and Seaspiracy, and his unwavering commitment continues to ripple across oceans.
