Looking for a healthy, all-natural, and easy-to-make homemade dog cookie recipe to surprise your pup?
In one of our sessions, my client’s sweet fur baby asked her mom to make these dog biscuits. She provided the ingredient list and requested that her mom bake them so they’d come out nice and crunchy.
After Julia baked them for Joy’s 1st birthday, Joy was so thrilled with the cookies that she wanted me to share the recipe to bring yumminess and joy to other puppies too. My heartfelt thanks to Joy, the creator of this recipe, and Julia, the amazing chef who made these beautiful cookies, for allowing me to share the pictures, recipe, and video of Joy munching on her treats!
The cookies tend to soften over time. Feel free to play with the rations and cook times.
Joy's Yummy Cookies Recipe
2 cups oat flour
3/4 cup mashed pumpkin or sweet potato or a mix
1/2 cup applesauce
1 tbs flaxseeds
3 tbs water
optional a sprinkle of cinnamon
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
Mix the flaxseeds with water and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until it becomes gooey.
Blend the oat flour with pumpkin or sweet potato and applesauce. Then, add the flaxseed mixture. Stir or blend until smooth.
Roll out the dough and use your favorite cookie cutter or hands to shape the cookies. Optionally, sprinkle a hint of cinnamon on top.
Place the cookies on a baking tray and bake for 30-35 minutes, until they reach your desired level of crunchiness.
Take the cookies out of the oven and let them cool.
Enjoy!
